Hello i was just looking at some numbers in the HWMonitor program and i noticed that the "battery wear level" on my 3 month old laptop is at 5.9%.

WHEN i do use the battery i usually get around 2 hours with battery saver mod, surfing web, youtube and music... and 1.30 hours if watching video..

Now im not sure if thats good or not but the designed capacity is at 81485 of the original 86580 mWh.

I run my laptop on AC power 90% of the time... so should i just remove the battery while im on AC power to prolong the battery's life?

Battery wear depends on what you do with it, the more you use your battery by charging/discharging it the faster it's going to wear out especially with a high performance machine. Your wear doesn't sound too unrealistic to be true unless you have never used it. Also keep in mind not all programs deliver 100% acurate info on battery usage/wear. You can try to disable the battery using the FN+F2, but I personally just take the battery out if it's going to be sitting plugged in for a longer period of time.

Yea i know about the fn+f2 but the AC still needs to keeps the battery at 100% even tho the PC is running on AC power..(hence the 100% Charged, plugged in message) i think il just take the battery out from now on.

There's a designed capacity and there's a fully charged capacity. The program looks at both and assumed the wear level which is the percentage of the difference.
Unless both are the same number (which rarely), you will have a certain wear percentage even if the battery is brand new and nothing wrong with it.
