Has anyone ever tried to repack batteries?

I can see information that it can be done, but cautions that the battery pack control chip will not play nice.

I bought (6 months ago) a cheapo one from china and its dead already. I will probably try a Dell next.

I mostly use AC power, but if i need to move room its nice to unplug instead of power down.

Just curious has anyone repacked without issues? I cant see any threads about this topic

I have repacked a battery drill. If you dont have a battery spot welder just gotta be quick with an iron.

But from what I read the controller chip (on some types) builds up a memory and wont accept a charge any longer.
