So now that we have a little more info on BF3, Battlefield 3 : BF3 - EA , I wanted to ask your thoughts on how you think R1's and R2's will be able to handle the new Frostbite 2 engine.

Aside from that, is this a game were ATI users will definitely have the upper hand because the 5870's support DX11 opposed to NVIDIA only supporting DX10 (and if so what differences can you expect).

I know this game is still months away, but I am eagerly awaiting its release!. If ATI performance is leaps ahead of NVIDIAs i'd probably keep my eyes out for a good price on dual 5870s. But I wonder if i'd better benifit a CPU upgrade instead...?

It's kind of early to say how a non released game will run on our machine. But performance wise i would say that in game you will almost always get better performance improvement with gpu upgrade rather than cpu.

Ya, I guess what im really wondering about is mainly the difference in performance with a DX11 based engine running on my DX10 cards.

I'm sure the HD5870 cards in XFire will run the game easily enough................ the concern is the drivers!

I want this game to ROCK! I played BF2 for years and I'm so stoked for this game to come out. The R2's should have no problem running this game....hopefully
