Before I confirm buying M17x, let me make sure if my options are good (and what do I do once I get my 17x?)

I'm not a techie at all, and with my MINUS touch, I just am not confident that I can install stuff myself without f-ing up.

    -Intel® Core™ i7 2720QM 2.2GHz (3.3GHz Turbo Mode, 6MB Cache)
    -8GB Dual Channel DDR3 at 1333MHz (4DIMMS)
    -2GB GDDR5 AMD Radeon HD 6990M
    -1.5TB Raid 0 (2x 750GB 7,200RPM)
    -17.3-inch WideFHD 1920 x 1080 60Hz WLED

With $50 discount, comes out to $2,184.00.

Is this good enough to last (if one can predict future) about 3 years max without going stale?
    --------------------------------------------------------
Also, what do I do once I get my PC? Is drivers already updated? What's starter's tip? (First-time laptop user here...). Do I have to overclock (whatever that is...) to prevent 17x from being dangerously hot? I just don't know...

Good build BUT, you could cancel the 8GB of RAM, get 4 instead. Also stick with the stock 320gb HDD. That should save you at least $200.

Then buy 4GB RAM @ newegg for $30 and a new HDD of whatever size you need for $50-100 or get an SSD.

Installing this stuff is not nearly as hard as it sounds, you only need a phillips screwdriver. If you don't want to try, then go ahead and order as it is, it is a good combo.

I can't say it will go 3 years but it should do 2 easily. Last years i7-720 & 5870m (single card) are still respectable laptops, so 2 years is reasonable. After 2 you'll probably have to turn down the graphics on the latest games but that isn't a big deal.

You got a great deal, but that coupon ends today, it probably won't help him.

    READ THIS:

@ original poster, you need to go to this link immediately, read up on it, email or PM or whatever this guy, get a quote and buy from him today or tomorrow. He works for Dell, and it he is giving insane discounts (30%, which is the best I've ever heard of). Don't ask me how it works because I don't know, but it looks obvious it does from the volume of posts.
