Hi friends from forum notebook review...

I have a stupid question, but i really want to know the answer...
Is it OK for us to always benchmarking our ALIENWARE m17x R2 ?
Is it Ok for us to severely benchmarking our ALIENWARE m17x R2 ?
I mean that, will there any problem to our system if we often benchmarking the system using 3dmarks06 ???

And i have benchmarking my system...
First time benchmarking system get 18880 3Dmarks06
Second time benchmarking system get 18600 3Dmarks06
Does anyone know why my benchmarking score is get down from 18880 to 18600 ?

    Thanks

Your question is not stupid, my friend. These laptops are made for gaming, and there's no harm in benchmarking them often. Get yourself a good notebook cooler, and you'll be set. There will always be small discrepancies in your benchmark runs. No two will ever be the same. I don't know your system specs, but 18880 is an awesome score. Your next run may be 19000, who knows?

There is a little margin of error and variation with every bench run. One of the reasons that they scores change is because of background process' that are running during the bench mark. If a background process or service executes a command, the several CPU cycles are taken away from the benchmark in order for the background service to do it's thing. Lots of things also contribute, such as heat. Heat causes instability.

Just something to keep in mind, if you begin overclocking/overvolting, just keep an eye on temps High sustained temps 90*C - 105*C+ is the computer killer. Overclocking is where you will see your scores really jump up therel.
