    Hi All,

Just wondering what settings everyone uses (To get the best frame rate/ quality ratio) in Catalyst Control Center for 4870's and 5870's?

The reason I ask is I've managed to get my paws on 2 x 5870's and only getting 6 or so frames more than I was with my 2 x 4870's (after a clean install and VBIOS update etc) I'm a very keen CoD W@W - Zombies add on player (The only game I played on PC until I got Black Ops - which im refusing to play atm) After alot of messing around in CCC, and all the settings maxed out in the game I'm getting 60 frames on the 2 x48's and 66 or so with the 58's while my mates who play are getting like 120+ frames on much older systems with everything maxed out in the game.

Crossfire is enabled both in CCC and the game and all drivers are up to date as is Windows and BIOS is A09. Specs of my system in my sig. The only reason I can see the point of hanging on to the 58's is for DX11 which of course was the deciding factor in buying them in the first place!

    Any ideas or advice?

Some games don't do well with crossfire. Try disabling it, you might get higher framerates. On a side note, good decision about the whole Black Ops thing.

i have close to the same specs as you. i get 96 fps all day long in black ops on good settings.

make sure you have Vsync disabled.

anything more than 60 fps u wont notice anyway because thats how often the screen refreshes, which is what Vsync is anyway. make the game refresh at the same time as the screen.

I leave CCC 3D settings on high performance. If I'm not benching, and am getting more than 70 FPS, I force V-Sync with triple buffering on to avoid screen tearing, stuttering, and other glitches. The human eye can't perceive more than 60 FPS anyway.

    Thanks everyone!

Have tried all suggestions and the most I can get with out tearing etc on W@W is still 60 FPS :( Lets hope the R3 screen has a higher refresh! Thanks V3 I can't get over Treyarch like seriously... I even moved up to a Terrabyte download on my ADSL +2 plan for another 24 months (on contract) in anticipation of playing Black ops online non stop!
