Title says it all, What do you guys think is the best software to use for DvD and Blu-Ray playback? I have been using PowerDvD 9.6 that comes with the computer but it seems a bit grainy while playing blu-rays and I couldnt rly fix it. Seems unusual to have even the slightest grain with a 120hz screen.

I've stood by NTI's media maker (and DVD playback) for many years. Rolls Royce software.
-
PDVD 10 and Total Media Theatre 5 are the best i've used.
-
Do you think that PDVD10 is going to be significantly superior to the 9.6 version that comes with the m17x r3? -
POWERDVD 10 is the best, i have tried them all nothing come close to it. there is a trial for it
-
Another vote for Arcsoft's Total Media Theatre 5

Yeah on my M17x r3 with powerdvd 9.6,my blurays show grainy too.It sucks, they should have given us quality software in the first place, you shouldn't have to buy new software to correct the problem.

I just finished testing out a trial version of every player listed here, PowerDvD and Total media have the best UIs and PowerDVD is slightly better but it hasnt fixed the graininess of the videos, I can't imagine that this is how it should upper whith hardware support from an i7 2720qm and 460m.... the screen dsnt seem broken so i wunder if the blu-ray player is just crap?

Generally playing SD videos looks much better on powerdvd for me over windows media player or classics player, check the options and try to use CPU playback instead of hardware acceleration and disable all enhancements -

As an example if you watch the BD of Black Hawk Down you will see a TON of graininess. It is exactly how the movie was supposed to viewed.
