Hey guys, I know this is again completely off, but I am alone on my b-day again as my girlfriend had family issues and I am living abroad :(

I want to buy something for my m17x :) this is on topic! I have one HDD bay free (SSD recommendations :)) and 2 ram slots free, what do you guys recommend, maybe even an i7 2960XM! :) b-day gift for myself :)

Well seeing as you are using an SSD already, don't bother. Despite not being the best SSD there is, if you want dramatic change, it won't really show. I've tested 4 ram slots. It will only run full speed if you get 4x PnP. TBH though, do you really need 16GB?

Now an XM CPU! That is another matter. If you can find cheap ones around, go for it!

I'm looking to go to 2960XM not just because I want the higher number but for practicality. I'm working on an app that doesn't use Turbo Boost so 2.7Ghz is nice. Someone can have my 2920XM if it does happen.

I don't for a second advise this but someone could buy it and laugh. 8 beeps in the M18x is usually a GPU Xfire problem I thought!

Oh an yes a Killer 1103 could be good too. Or perhaps get a 120Hz screen from the guys at pchub. I have a spare emitter and cable for the 3D.
