Seen as there is alot of driver activity for these cards, lots available with people reporting different performance from each one, I though i would ask everyones opinion on which one they find the best for them.

Obviously different configs play a part in this but i am interested to hear wether people find Dell 8.763 / 10.10 / 10.10e / 10.11 / 10.12 better or worse than one another. If anyone is using other drivers other than those mentioned, wether they are modded or not, would be great to hear how they perform too.

Ive also listed a poll so if you just wanna vote, feel free....

Anyone who wants to post feedback or info on ANY of the above drivers OR earlier versions, feel free....after all, we are all just after the best performance for these beasts.

Also, if any one wants to list specific games and reference particular drivers that either perform well or dont, that may be of use for anyone else who wants the best for their system - be as specific as you like in terms of what driver performs best/worst with whatever game as its all info we could do with knowing!

EDIT: If anyone is confused about what driver is which in terms of AMD numbering and so forth, the list here http://developer.amd.com/drivers/ccc/Pages/default.aspx is pretty much self explanatory....the packaging string shows which version equates to what driver etc etc...first column tells you all you need to know....you can see where Dell 8.763 lies between catalyst releases 10.8 and 10.9 meaning that Dell's 8.763 release was based on 10.8 AMD drivers but was "Dellized" to work with the newer Dell vbios release.

stevie, can you modify the poll to list which driver the Dell 8.763 driver is? Some users who are new to AMD may not understand how to read the Catalyst driver version info. (I'm one of those folks - lol).

    EDIT:

Added 8.763 to the list. Should be fine as is. If you want it changed, PM me.

Thanks and great idea for a poll!

I'd have to say 8.692, they have been the best drivers for me running all stock clocks with no mods. I have had mine since July (replacement for R1 in sig), been gaming on Aion, Crysis & Warhead, Metro2033, LFD 1&2, Fallout 3 & New Vegas, etc. all max settings and I'm lovin it!!

Depends on what game you play. AW/Dell 10.9 drivers are the best for me for games like ETW and Dirt2. So I use radeonpro, leave my system on 10.12, and use driver compatibility mode for those two specific games.

You can run any game on any driver compatibility mode with Radeonpro, which makes it an amazing software for AMD/ATI users.

That's great info....maybe not many people know of RadeonPro and that particular ability.....means that you can have the best of both worlds which im sure alot of people thought it was one or the other in terms of driver....

If you care to elaborate on any of this and how to use RadoenPro, I think that would be extremely helpful to lots of owners....

    +rep for the info.

Thanks Batboy - I have altered the original post to include some additional info that relates to how Dell 8.763 fit into the AMD timescale of driver releases - hope that helps! - for anyone who is unsure.

Sure. Cave Waverider from Guru3D taught me how. First things first, download Radeonpro:
    RadeonPro Downloads

    Then:

    a) Download driver of choice from AMD.
    b) Execute the .exe file that you downloaded.Click Install. This won't actually install the drivers, it will just extract them to the AMD\<drivername> directory (or whichever directory you specify).
    c) After the Extraction is complete, the Catalyst Install Manager will start. Click Cancel and Yes to comfirm aborting the installation process.
    d) Now open an elevated Command prompt with Administrator privlieges. To do this, open your start menu, go to Accessories, right click on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator (this only applies to some setups, for others, the regular command prompt should do).
Type cd C:\AMD\<drivername>\Packages\Drivers\Display\W76A_ INF\<some letter and numbers>\ directory for 64 bit Windows or cd C:\AMD\<drivername>\Packages\Drivers\Display\W7_IN F\<some letter and numbers>\ for 32 bit Windows.

Type expand atioglxx.dl_ atioglxx.dll and hit Return or Enter.
Type expand atiumdag.dl_ atiumdag.dll and hit Return or Enter.
Type expand aticfx32.dl_ aticfx32.dll and hit Return or Enter.

    e) Copy the dlls to an easy access directory. Now that you have expanded your files, you only need to add them to RadeonPro.

    f) Open RadeonPro. Make sure that Enable Driver Compatibility is checked in Settings->Advanced.

    g) Create game profile. Click on the Advanced tab. Under driver compatibility, click on the "Manage My Drivers" link.

    h) The Manage my Drivers window will pop up. In the Driver Set field, enter a description for your driver, for example: AW/Catalyst 10.9 (in case you download 10.9) .

    i) In the Folder Path field, enter the path to the folder the expanded .dlls reside in. Click Check files. If everything goes well, File(s) found in folder should have checkmarks next to D3D, CFX and OGL.

    j) Click Add/Update Driver Set to save it. Click Close.

    k) Select your newly added driver from the Driver compatibility List.

    l) Check the D3D, CFX and OGL boxes and run game.

    Done!

Glad to be of help! :D

The process requires some work, but I still think it's better than uninstalling new/installing old drivers. You can also customize profiles for all your games using Radeonpro which makes life a lot easier.

Its one or the other, not both....depending on 32bit or 64bit.....try with the line for your OS and see if that works....

You have to start the installation process and then cancel it. I don't know where you unpacked your drivers but try using the search function for the *.dl_ files using windows explorer.
