I've been reading for a bit and I came across several posts where users claim that the old 10.5a ATI display drivers work best with crossfire setups.

Now I'm torn between installing the new 10.8 driver or reverting to the old 10.5a.

I'm using dual HD5870s and the 10.7 display driver at the moment.

    Suggestions?

EDIT: Also, does the 10.8 crossfire application profiles work with older versions? Say, 10.5a or 10.7? Thanks in advance. :)

    Hi theres, Welcome

If you are planning to use the newer 10.8 dell drivers you should definitely read up on the above link that was already posted.

On page 33 there is also instructions about how to update drivers and flashing the gpu's Vbios.

    Cheers.

    That's like a 60+ page thread.

Let me summarize it for you.

First, install the Dell Beta 8.763 driver.

Then flash the vbios with the beta vbios installer. Most people prefer to dos flash. I had no problem using winflash. You might get a fail message, no biggie, just do it again until you get a success message. Don't reboot if you do get a fail message but otherwise reboot when you do.

This setup provides the best in game performance, and eliminates the sleep/blank screen problems.
