Hi there!
I’m trying to find out more if a unlocked bios will even be worth it for my system.
Specs:
I7 4940mx
GTX 980m 8gb
32gb 1600mhz ram
1tb msata
1tb Samsung 860qvo
2tb seagate HDD
230w psu
60hz matte FHD
Hardware mods:
4pipe cpu copper heatsink
5 pipe GPU copper heatsink
Currently on the newest version windows 10
And on bios A17.
I have plans to swap from the 60hz to the 120hz display in the future, I also was curious as to what benefits I’ll get in controlling my CPU voltages in the bios with a unlocked bios if anything at all?
Would like to tone down this CPU, not experiencing throttling but for more of a enjoyable experience.
What are the big changes From a Dell bios to the unlocked one?
Which bios would be best for me?
If there is a post that can answer these for me please link me to it because I haven’t found what I’m looking for, or what I think I should be looking for.

There is a thread that already details this in this subforum. Can't link on mobile. Titled 4930mx overclocking guide or something akin to that.

I didn’t see it yesterday when I was searching ‘4940mx’ using the tapatalk app(I’m very new to it).
