I just wanted to share a easy solution for the alienfx that sometimes can seem a little sluggish sometimes while changing themes and sometimes a small delay in a music player with the alien fx lightshow.i have found this to help for faster response times to theme changes and a way more accurate light to the beat in the alien fx light show for the music players. To try it out what u do is push crtl+alt+delete then click task manager , then click processes , then right click on alienwarefxcontroller.exe, then set priority to above normal if you are multitasking and high if you just want them on time.just wanted to put this out there if it wasnt.hope it helps.

Hey thanks! I actually went through all of that, and got it working with winamp. However, your instructions to get it working in iTunes confused me a little. Could you explain it to me again please? Thank you

Dang, this is pretty bad-butt. Can I just leave it on High at all times? Is that going to damage my computer or anything?

Also, can we use this method for all programs (first example would be CCC, which always takes FOREVER to come up)?

No problem Jayden and all else this helps.

To you dookie , Depending on your processor. Its normally ok to leave it on high if you dont mind a small loss in other performance areas (in the alien fx case very very small) but it can be a load on the processor running to many things in high priority (best example nero transcode in code dvd process , which will speed up the time by alot but drain just about all other function). so it depends really on what and how many things you are doing. But what ever is set to the high priority wll be first up for the aliens power services lol, so yes a "Almost" definet increase in peformance.

note : did anyone else notice the transitions on the adnvanced temes timing no longer goes off pace of how you set it on high priority ? ,,, lol im really happy about that , and i do admit i usally leave it on high priority with really no problems , just benefits.heres a theme you can test what i mean about the timing with below (this is my own creation lol , call it fire and ice)

Is the setting it high thing meant for it to load the program up faster, or meant for the program to run faster? (I hope I phrased that correctly).

Well it depends on if it runs in the background or not.For the program to be in the processes list it usally has to be running already.I would say more for the actual usage then anything else in most cases.

Do you think it'll make a diff for AlienFX (the program we use to go change colors for our lights)?

It definetly makes a diffrence for the alien fx controller.exe which is a constant function in the background(in process list at startup til shutdown , but still must be reset to high priority again after a reboot) , when u use the light show u can see how much faster and accurate it is.The most important part for the light show is the way you setup your zones vs color+frequency.the high priority will definetly increase the speed of a single programs function. As i pointed out earlier in some cases of mutli tasking it can have its downfalls.

Dang. Big disappointment that it's not permanent. I'd like to see a diff with CCC popping up when you right click properties and go to configure switchable graphics (the window takes foreverrrrrrrrr to pop up).
