    Greetings,

At first I thought my graphics card had bit the dust but after further investigation have found that the bios had disabled it. I can manually re enable it but it won't do it automatically. I've tried booting up with the power supply out and in and still the same issue. I have latest bios on there but now stuck on what to do.
    Any suggestions?

    Kind Regards

    Rocks

    Hello, Rocks.
First of all do you have the M17x or M17x R3?

I'm guessing the M17x as you need the unofficial BIOS to turn off iGP in the R3.
Please confirm so we'll be able to help you.

This system was never meant to switch between graphic cards by it self like optimus.
It is up to the user to switch between them provided the drivers support this.

If you start the system on battery, dedicated cards will automatically get Disabled and the system will start on the 9400M. Plugging the power cord after starting the system on battery won't give you the option of switching.

In order to re-enable dedicated cards you'll have to enter BIOS, navigate to Advanced and down to Graphic Settings.

There, Enable and Disable the options to suit your needs. It's recommended that you keep PCIe Gen2 disabled though if you have nVIDIA cards.
