    Hi folks,
could someone give me idiot prove instructions on how to update my bios on my m17x (dell)
I've downloaded the last version which is A07 and unzipped it, but within the files their are more zipped folders? Do I need to unzip these as well?
Currently running verion A02, but suspecting this is giving me some problems. Can the bios be updated from boot and while running windows?

    Thanks..

    Koki

Depends on the model. Dell often have 2 downloads. One is for expanding to a USB drive and updating from a clean boot, others are a windows executable that does it all and restarts. What instructions are attached to the download?

Just download the file and run it, it shouldn't be too much of a hassle. Worst case scenario, it will ask you to use a USB key and the instructions will be displayed on screen step by step.

Let us know if anything shows up.

You are downloading the wrong package. When you get this list select as shown: r1bios.JPG

 Just remember to close any open applications and the power cord is in before you start it. For some strange reason all the dell bios updates I have done give you no warning and start the flash as soon as you run it :(
