If it doesn't happen with any other games it could be always be a bad installation, have you tried re-downloading/installing?

To be fair a black screen is probably more entertaining than the game anyway.

I picked the game up this morning at 12am and played it for 4 hours and think they did an excellent job from what I have played so for.

I am having an issues on the third mission right as the opening cut scene is playing it goes to the loading screen and stays there. Waited as much as 10 mins, and nothing. The game is not frozen its still active screen is still moving but just does not advance. Have Alienware M18x with dual 580m's.

good point! Might be worth trying to run the game with a single card and seeing what happens. One card is better than no card after all. :p

Black Ops 2 doesn't appear to have had a smooth launch for the PC gaming crowd. I'm one of several people who cannot get native resolution on my TV (1920x1080) over HDMI from my m17X R4. Seems to be a very common problem for a lot of people - in game resolutions stop well short of that. I updated to Nvidia Beta drivers they suggested and did a few other things without luck. I still enjoyed playing it at the lower resolution temporarily, just have to wait for a fix :) I echo what Martin said and check out the Activition forums and also look at the Steam forums as there are any threads on graphics issues there.

As a side note - Martin I liked your signature so much I had to create my own :)

Just a follow up thought on Black Ops 2 with the 680m GPU. I have confirmed that the resolution limitations I am seeing are only when connecting the laptop to the LCD TV via the HDMI port. When using the m17x panel 1080P resolution can be selected without an issue. I can only get something like 1280x960 resolution at most when using HDMI. Anyone else seeing this problem?

Yes, I am having the same thing. Also I enabled FPS counter and on laptop I get 50-150 FPS, while on TV always 21-29 or so. Game on my new LED TV is unplayable. The same goes for NFS Most Wanted, frame rates make the game unplayable on the TV. Could it be Windows 8 issue?

I am running Windows 7 64Bit and am having the HDMI resolution issues so it is definitely not just an issue in Windows 8. I see a lot of other threads on this at other sites and thus far no one has confirmed Treyarch is even looking at this.
