This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Hi guys,

    About a month ago I opened my laptop which was already running but the screen didn't turn on. I tapped the Caps Lock key but the respective light on the chassis didn't respond so I think the Windows 7 OS was frozen.

    It's happened intermittently a few times since.

    Any idea what the cause is?
