Hey guys I bought my m17x when it first came out and am now regretting the fact I did not get a blu ray player built in. Do you guys know what internal blu ray drive fits the m17x and how much it would cost to get installed?

Look for CA10N on ebay. You can get it for as low as $50.

Dell will not install aftermarket parts(even if they're Dell p/n's bought through a 3rd party). You may be able to arrange their in-home contractor to do it for a nominal fee outside of the Dell warranty service. Otherwise you need to look for a cpu-guide, since you need to tear the laptop down to that point, and then you still have to remove the sound card and expresscard/MMC reader daughterboard. It's probally the most involved component to replace sans a motherboard, and I would expect to pay at least $100-200 for an in-home tech to perform the service.

If you travel to southern ME just over the NH border at all buy the BluRay drive and contact me. If you bring your M17x and BluRay I'll install it, I've done boh my M17x and Ma5x it's pretty simple to do.
