soundmatters | foxL - The first pocket-sized music system good enough for audio purists
I am probably going to pick this up, 97db @ .5mW ...Not even sure how this is possible.
It can be powered via USB and also has a rechargable battery built-in. It has RAVING reviews everywhere. I am sure the audio quality far surpasses our built-in speakers![]()
Now, if this works, my whole issue with the optical port causing onboard speakers to phail will be moot because I will just be using external speakers.

It does look nice. I'd need to demo it in person to take the plunge. How much does it cost?

I bought several of these portable speakers when they were being cleared out by Creative Labs (~$8). If you can find some they would serve you well for just about any purpose except for the true "audiophile" junkie.

These are quite good speakers as I've mentioned. They handle bass pretty well for such small speakers. Honestly I bought these because they handle basses well so I'm not sure what people are complaining about. Bass sounds like you have a sub with you and it's clear. I'm skeptical of the reviews on amazon because I have several of these and love them.
The volume does go up pretty high, enough for a good size backyard or pool session. So again, I'm not sure why people are complaining why it isn't too loud. For this size it's LOUD. I run mines on rechargeable batteries but as reviews as stated when the batteries start running low the sound will suffer with cracks and volume adjustments. On 4 1000maH batteries it'll last you for a while before the juice runs out.
Regardless of the reviews, these speaker dock are exceptionally good if you can still find any around. I have not tested any other docks or replacements for this model as I'm quite happy and have stocked up on them for the future (they're that good). I like my sound, you're good with this model -

They don't list the THD rating which is actually against FTC regulations when selling speakers...If they don't put it up they can be fined
