    Hi all,
Question on recommended replacement drives for my R4. Pretty sure my OEM is knacked as it wont play bluray disks any more & also leaves chunks in same (see photo below). In fact, it seems to struggle to recognise most disks now, clunking etc like its having a hernia.

For ref, the OEM is a HL-DT-ST DVDRWBD CA30N

I've also seen this Pioneer & wasn't sure if it would be compatible.

In any case, I would be really grateful for any help/suggestions as I have some projects coming up where I need to burn quite a bit of stuff off.

You can buy any BD drive which is a 12.7mm thick and it is a slot load type. The Pioneer from your link it is not compatible since it is a tray load type drive.

Thanks Zoltan, wasn't sure if that was the case with the pioneer. If anyone could suggest/recommend a good unit to look for, that would be very much appreciated.

Pop the part number into ebay and you will probably find a whole bunch :)
