    Thanks Micky. I see it now. I will ask my father-in-law if we can do something like your example. I also have an image from WhapAChow showing where to solder wires. Of course, they can be tested before soldering is done so make sure connections are correct.

    Not sure if my father-in-law will use Auto Cad to virtually build this as he has done in the past with his woodworking projects but if so, he can then add this feature for the plug and wires.

    Great, If he has a router then this should be quite easy. If not then it's going to take some careful carving.

    You could also screw a cover plate over it for neatness and to ensure fingers do not get in there when moving it - no danger, just would protect it.

    Yes he has a woodworking shop in his garage. He has been doing this for years. I will talk with him about doing a cover plate as well. Might place the plug in the center of the back. The 2 places I will be using this contraption will be the family room where I have a plug to the right of my seat and my office when my friend comes over for a LAN party but hates laptops so she uses my PC and I use my laptop. That plug will be on my left where I sit in the office.
