Hi everyone, I just received my laptop and overall, I'm extremely satisfied with how its working.
However, one problem I've noticed is that my keyboard seems to have a bump in the middle. Basically, towards the middle of the keyboard, the keys rise up and it makes it look like there's something underneath the keyboard creating that bump. They keyboard itself works perfectly though. It's slightly irritating me because I just want everything to be perfect and when the keyboard isn't perfectly flat, it's bothersome.![]()
Is this normal? Or should I call Dell to have someone fix it up?

Hold it sideways to the light and see if any of the keys are touching the screen while the lid is closed. If so, I would definitely call and get that fixed so the screen doesn't eventually get scratched. I've had my keyboard changed as keys were raised on mine as well, and the job was quick and easy

Was the laptop disassembled recently?
I know that the Wifi cables from the screen run under it thru a cable gutter but if they are not seated properly, you keyboard would bulge upwards.
If that is not the case....i think heat my have made the plastic contort a bit.
EDIT:
I need more Coffee.....i see you just got it
Perhaps the keyboard was not seated properly?

I've got the same thing. It was from a shoddy repair job. The tech didn't make sure the monitor cables were secured in the little groove which is supposed to hold them. So when he replaced the keyboard on top of them, the monitor cables pushed up slightly against the keyboard and caused that little bump. I still haven't gotten it to flatten out yet. But I refuse to buy a new keyboard because of some dumb WWTS tech! Yours might be for a totally different reason, but the cause it always the same. One or more of the cables under the keyboard were not secured into their respective grooves and in turn, pushed up on the keyboard when it was reinstalled.

Update on bump in keyboard.
This is now fixed. I called up Dell and they sent a technician to my house to replace my keyboard.
The problem was that the monitor cable beneath the keyboard did indeed come out of its groove or bracket thing. The technician simply put it back into the groove correctly and replaced my keyboard with a new unit. Everything is now perfectly flat and working properly!
I must say, the technician was very nice and professional. He handled my laptop with the utmost care and I am now a satisfied customer. My M17x is completely free of problems.
