    Buying a M17x R2 from Germany, Options?

    Hello,

    Recently my current laptop (MBP 17 inch mid-2008) started acting up and running really slow, then the battery died, Have it now for nearly 3 years so I think it did its job. So I decided I wanted a new laptop and decided I want to go with an Alienware M17x-R2.


    System Color - Space Black - Anodized Aluminum
    Processor - Intel® Core™ i7 740QM Quad Core Processor, 1.73GHz (2.93GHz Turbo Mode, 6M Cache)
    Operating System - Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium, 64bit, English
    Video Card - 1GB GDDR5 ATI Radeon™ Mobility HD 5870
    LCD Panel - 17-inch WideUXGA 1920 x 1200 RGB LED (1200p) (Causing the biggest grief..)
    Memory - 4GB Dual Channel Memory (2x 2GB DDR3)
    Hard Drive Configuration - non-RAID setup (regular hard drive setup) - Hard Drive - 500GB 7,200RPM SATA-II HDD
    Wireless Cards - Intel® Ultimate N WiFi Link 6300 a/g/n 3x3 MIMO Technology

    That is the laptop I wish to buy, I think it ends up being around $1934 without trying to haggle price or anything from the Dell US website. Now my problem is I live in Germany now, and the Dell Germany does not offer the RGB screen anymore, and will never offer it again, according to a Live Chat staff from Dell Germany.

    My biggest question now is, what are my options of aquiring this Laptop? I found this site... HID Evolution, and they also deliver to Germany no probs. I'm wondering if this site is trustworthy, can anybody provide any feedback for them? or if there is another better way? This will be my first Laptop that I buy that is not a Mac, at the same time it will be the first online purchase that is above $500 so I'm kind of nervous :p.

    Sorry for the long post but I just dont want to make a huge mistake and splurge on a laptop and end up getting a giant useless footrest that I cannot return and end up losing all my money :p. I also don't want to give Germany the satisfaction of buying something that is more expensive at base customization than buying a nicely customized same product in the US :p.

    HID Evolution is a well established company & have read here on the forum that some members have purchased from them & have been very happy with the service received from HID.You could also purchase a secondhand one from a reseller on ebay or i dunno if Dell in Germany have a outlet to buy a refurb.
