I'm going to buy a used one and I'm currently the high bidder, was wondering how high I should bid before it's too much? Thanks

Run a mile, it's a terrible advert - the spec list is patchy and incomplete, the graphics card is crap and there is no remaining warranty.

To top it all off it's being sold by someone brand new to ebay with 0 feedback.

This has nightmare written all over it!

Never buy from someone with under 100 points if its a purchase this large, he can scam you so easy

I wouldn't go above maybe $700 I mean you can pick up an Asus G73 for $400-700 and be getting a 5870m which is a better stock videocard than the 6870... Also plenty of Sager models that would have better specs than either. If you're set on Alienware though then I'd be keeping it under the $700 range.

As far as the 0 feedback etc just completely ignore these guys saying to be worried about that. You get eBay buyer protection, paypal buyer protection, and your banks buyer protection. The guy selling it is either an idiot or not a native English speaker but you have multiple buyer protections so the odds of him "scamming" you are absurdly low it isn't like the old days where you barely had any options if someone ripped you off.

Its not refurbished, barely any description and most importantly the specs? Some red flags are 0 feedback, and selling it just after the warranty ended. My suggestion is to skip this and browse the NBR Marketplace And a fyi this Alienware is a M17x R3 (Revision 3)

I agree!!! Stay far far away from this rig. DO NOT PURCHASE. Firstly, Factory restored does not entail switching out the keyboard. This statement is a lie: "...the dell people came to my house and insured it was top notch condition". Dell does not come to anyone's home, they send on-site technicians who are contracted and work for another company. Most of these people are "general" technicians (they work on more than just Alienware rigs and other products like TVs and such). Moreover, you have no idea which CPU is dumped in that thing. It is listed as being built in 2010! It's either an R2 or an R3 (you don't know for sure because it doesn't say).

I can go on and on, but the most important thing to remember is: IT HAS NO WARRANTY. Meaning, these rigs go south from time to time and you cannot receive diagnostics and/or repairs if it does. You will be SOL, literally. And there is no telling what's the history of this machine without the service tag number. If this machine was truly taken care of, he would still have warranty on it... just an observation.

If you are on a budget, please shop the Dell Outlet Store or the marketplace here on NBR.

Another vote to not touch this. NEVER buy ANYTHING of serious value from an Ebay seller with zero feedback. Period. No matter how tempting it might seem, you may end up getting your fingers burned rather nastily.

Not to mention that this rig says it is shipping from Roswell, New Mexico! Steer clear and welcome to NBR :D

Scams are still very popular, especially with 0 feedback. But the point is, why risk it when there are so many others out there with a good rep they don't want to lose? Most of those come with warranty also.

Better stay away from that, we all start with 0 feedback but selling something that big with that kind of description and without any warranty are definitely not good signals.
