I was in touch with a dell sales rep and had gotten a quote for the system I had configured for about $1560 the specs are
500gb 7200 RPM HDD (Will pop in a SSD afterwards)
    1080p screen
    Radeon HD 7970m
6gb ram (Will upgrade this to about 8-12 gigs myself afterwards)
    stock i7 processor
In the end it was a bit pricey but I thought the deal was amazing so when I asked for opinions from my brother (who owns an asus g75vw atm) and my sister they both thought it wasn't worth it which is putting me off from buying it so I would like to ask those of you have already bought one whether this is a good deal or not.

The only thing you should be aware of is Dell's support system is tough to get through. If you have no problems with your laptop, you're great! If you do, it'll suck.

In regards to the specs to price, it seems fairly decent.

From what I'm aware of Dell will send you a replacement if you have any problems within the first 30 days, and from seeing the comments I'm assuming the price is decent.

Go to the Dell site and configure the exact same system and see what the difference is.

How much did your brother pay for his ASUS G75VW? I'm sure he overpaid for it....

My brother paid about $1300 or $1400 but after tax he paid about 1582 and his graphics card was only a GTX 660m. (Tax in Ontario is at a ridiculous 13%)
