Hi guys, i am going to buy another 4gb ram stick for my m17xR2 and was wondering about ram timings.

    currently i have 1x4gb 9-9-9-etc and 1x2gb 9-9-9-etc 1333Mhz Ram

I want to remove the 2gb and replace it with a 4gb, £71.. Komputerbay 4GB DDR3 SODIMM (204 pin) made with Hynix semiconductors 1333Mhz PC3 10600 4 GB with SODIMM Heatsink for extra cooling (8-8-8-24): Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories

this ram has 8-8-8-24 timings, will that mean things arent quite insync or wont it make a lick of difference?

    Its all fine chiefs.

The ram will run fine. Usually with ram speeds they will just see the lowest slowest speed and run using that so everything is and will be in sync. So your all good to go! Enjoy.

    Cheers. :)

to use your words... thanks chiefs!

time to get 8GB's... using hyper-v and sharepoint on 6GB is getting annoying
