    Hi all,

I have a M17X R3, it came with the 6870m, but i changed it to the Clevo 6990m.

I have one question, while assembling the 6990m, i didnt put the white plastic clips on the heatsink, are they important? Or do i need to put them?

    ty all

I'm assuming the R3 is like the R2 from a GPU mounting perspective. If that's the case, then with the Clevo cards you DO NOT need to use the C-clips. However if someone can confirm who has an R3 that would probably be best.

No, those plastic clips are only meant to keep the screws in place. Just remember that next time you remove the heatsink. Those screws are so tiny that if one falls into the carpet (assuming you have carpet), you're never going to see it again.
