I updated the ageing drivers from Dell (the 12. something-or-the-other) to the 13.4, everything feels ok, however everytime on bootup i get this error- 16bit application error stating " mmload.exe is incompatibile with x64 windows" do you guys know how to get rid of this... or what seems to be causing this
my applied "fixes"
nothing in startup that remotely resembles this file
CAP 1 of 13.4 installed
re-installed the drivers
none of this worked
can you guys help?
thanks

That's related to SanDisk Media Manager probably, do you have something like that or use any SanDisk peripheral?
-

Well the maybe something on the registry got messed up, why don't you try system restore?
-
ran my trusted reg scanner, no errors, the rig as a whole is working ok, except this annoying error, i cant do a restore, i am running 7x64 on a 840Pro, to do a restore would require me to reinstall.... not an option as of yet, and i kinda had that as my last resort,
i was hoping from the more technical minds in NBR to give me some advice -

Have you tried doing a clean install of the new drivers yet?

First try what SkylineLvr suggested. It is no secret that AMD drivers are sometimes a hassle to install. I'm surprised no one has been in here telling you that getting Nvidia cards will fix your problem.
Uninstall the driver through the Control Panel. Tell it to remove ALL AMD driver crap when prompted. I then install DriverSweeper and run it in Safe Mode (F8 whilst booting). Just tell it to sweep for and remove all AMD Display residue. Then reinstall your driver.
IF THAT DOESN'T WORK, I also did some research and have a couple of ideas. Apparently there's a check box somewhere in CCC or Windows display properties about expanding your desktop to another monitor. Are you running multiple monitors? I found this HERE. You should try deselecting that check box. I'm not sure where it is.
And if all else fails, you could try disabling the process through services.msc. Not ideal, but may help you troubleshoot. -
heeey.....sorry i didnt see the thread got updates, thanks for the replies guys
@ Turbo'd- i couldnt see a services.msc link for the associated file (i did check that, at the first instance), no not using multiple monitors, aandyou're right about NV, but then again i knowingly purchased ATI cuz of bang vs buck+ it does work mostly
@ skyline, nada chief
i'll look into running a few updates, and see if that ends up fixing this
