    Hi!ยจ

When i play some games like Magic the gathering: duels of the planeswalkers my m17x R3 performs more and generates more heat, hence noisy fans.
The opposite on battery mode. Now the question is if i can change this to also use less performance and more silent mod with AC mode?

Sometimes, you'd apreciate less noise with games like this where fps isnt a priority.

Note* the power saving plans options does not apply to this. There's gotta be something else like CPU turbo mode or something.

    stealth mode button?
not sure if the r3 has this
(by the amount of negative feedback we gave dell, i'm sure they would have removed this option haha) basically it was a PITA with it turning on by itself and all.

also you could use throttlestop to limit the multiplier

You can disable CPU turbo mode in the BIOS. I did this with my 2760qm and now it's maximally running at 2.4Ghz. CPU fan rarely starts now. And if it does, then it's just slow spinning, even when gaming.
However, when gaming the GPU fan still gets on high.
