I have been thinking of Re-pasting my CPU and GPU lately as i see my temps reach slightly higher than they used be at, i even hit 80C while gaming when i never did before.
Can someone pin point me to a good tutorial, Pics or video would be amazing, from what i googled i can see multiple ways people do it.
Some just drop two droplets of IC diamond spread it and fit it back, some clean it and and clean it and repaste in the end.
what is the safest way to do this ?
thank you in advance.

Never spread the paste. Just put the paste on and press the heat sink down, then screw it on. It will spread itself. I use the line method for CPU's and the cross method for GPU's.

When I see a discussion about spread patterns I always remember this youtube video.

I read up some more, and i think i wont spread it around for now. I am a little scared and will follow the technique J.Dre says. +1 Rep.
I am about to do this, any way i can clean the fans ?? i can get compressed air and blow the wings but i am worried the dust might still settle down at the base .Last edited by a moderator: May 12, 2015 -

For cleaning the fans I always pull them out of the machine and blow them out with high powered compressed air. Make sure you don't let the fan spin or you could possibly damage it. As to repasting, this guide should be pretty similar for the r4.

Wow, nice results! That probably quieted the machine down quite a bit! lol. What paste did you use?
