since no one answered in my other thread, and maybe its off-topic, i made another one.

ok my problem is that my cpu has a low score at 3dmark vantage, and also apps like cpu-z reads 2 cores and 4 threads..

    and this was my score:

i redownladed chipset and bios drivers and reinstalled (dont know how to do a clean install) and currently redownloading 3dmark vantage to do the test again.

any clues of how to fix this? please, i payed over 1500+ for this pc, gotta make sure its worth it. thanks

hmm thats weird as its suposed to be a quadcore cpu and being able to do 8 threats.

prolly best to contact dell about it, as all i can think off is a faulty cpu

there is something definitely wrong dude! That's showing a dual core processor! Call Dell right away.

The other weird thing is that your bus speed reads 104...most R3's will read 99.8 or so in CPUz..download the latest version of cpuz...i think its 1.58 and try it again

so its not driver-related that makes cpu-z read it different?

about bus-speed, maybe because i've raised the core speed in bios performance options from 2200 mhz to 2300mhz... just maybe.

ive dled the last version of cpu-z, i see the same:

task manager offers affinity for the 4 cores, and other programs (like xilisoft video converter) also shows the 4 cores to enable or disable.

ill take a pic of BIOS and upload it, see if it helps in any way. please help me

try this : "If it still shows 2 Cores and 4 Threads then you need to go into msconfig and open up the Boot - Advanced Options and uncheck the number of processors box and reboot and see if that helps."

i had it checked with number "4" in it. weird, but it works. you are a genius. now it shoes 4 cores and 8 threads.

but this... affects performance too? --> edit: didnt notice, but the core speed inmediatly increased 700+, i will run benchmark now. thanks!

guess ill run benchmark 3dmark vantage again, ill post later the results.

download and run throttlestop (follow the guide). Make sure you check full clock modulatoin and control, and set multiplier to turbo, and turn it on. that should fix things.
