I decided to repaste the thermal CPU of my alienware 17.
I didn't find a video tutorial from someone who already did it, I make one for people who are curious about :)
Temp are a little bit better ( at the end of the video a table) :) i used intelburn test to push up the temp of the CPU.

Next one, it will be for GPU and CPU with Coollaboratory Liquid Ultra, soon ;)

Do you think is it worth to repaste the CPU with Diamond 24 ? my CPU temp is much higher then GPU (4700M with 765M GTX)

it's the same, the volume change: small is 7 and larger tube has 24 :p
I have also the 4700MQ, with IC, my current temp ( 6h laptop open no gaming ) is 44-48°c, Min 43°c, Max 53°c Average is 47°C==> HWinfo64
For my side, it worth to repaste if you listen to much a noisy fan or if you enjoy to do it :)

You sure you wanna go that way?

Read what's in red for the aluminium.
Also remember the components around the die if you use just a tad to much. If the stuff hits other components its dead.

if i used the CLU permanently, i think it will not be a problem. Or using a Blowtorch to unmount it :p

OK. Just remember the CLU is highly electrically conductive and next to the die, it is components that don't like being shortcut :D

Also if you get it on your alu, it eats it up.

Wasn't as worried about dismantling it since doing this successfully is for good as long as you don't do CPU upgrades. :)
Getting this done would even make it better than my heatspring.
On the other hand, on your GPU you also need the cooling pads. They might need a change at a point to cool your memory etc. and might force you to kill the GPU to remove it from heatsink.

Didnt know that with alu^^ i think next time i 'll remove the CPU, it will be for an upgrade^^ so i ll have no worries to remove it by killing it.
And yes, i think you right for gpu it will be a bad idea as heatsink should be removed first, i 'll stay on IC7 for gpu so :)

Yes, its at the end of the videothe comparaison but here a quick look after putting a copper^^:

Here CPU temp with original thermal paste:

The result as you see is really good :) So it worth repasting it and to fix a copper if you have the occasion too :)
