Whats the best way to monitor cpu temps and make sure it is not down throttling. I have bios a09 installed.

    I use HWiNFO32.

I believe the 920XM and 940XM throttle around 95 Celcius and can run to a maximum of 105 Celcius.

The more experienced amongst us will correct me if the thresholds I've posted are incorrect. :D

it's actually closer to 98-99C for thermal throttling.

on 940XM the Tj. Max is 100C

i use a program called Core Temp. lol it works with my little windows sidebar gadget for cpu monitoring. it also has logging capabilities. it tells the temp of each core currently, lowest temp since started, and highest temp since started.

    here is it opened:

the temps are so high because i have BFBC2 running in the background in window mode while i checked some stuff on the net haha.

I should run some tests to see if this CoolerMaster cooling stand actually does anything for my CPU. It works great on my GPUs because I went a day without a fan on my primary and it was only like 4 degrees higher than normal.

Tj max for 940xm is indeed 100C on paper. but i do notice that the cpu will start throttling at 98C (rarely) to 99C (often).
