I've been playing Modern Warfare 2 perfectly fine for a while, but I always liked CoD 4 better, so I installed that today.
Problem is, my mouse seems to have a half-second lag after I move it to when the action is reflected on screen. This problem does not appear in MW2.
I've checked/unchecked "Sync Every Frame?" and "Dual Video Cards" and a few others to see if it fixes the issue, but no luck so far.
Anyone got some ideas as to what the problem is? It's only CoD 4, so I'm not worried that it's a system-wide issue, but the game is kinda unplayable, which sucks.
EDIT: for got my specs: 5870 x2, 720qm, 4gb ram

Hmmmsss not to sure ey. I hate it when you try or want to play a game and it just doesn't work right.
Could try usual suspects if havent yet;
Uninstall reinstall the game.
driver sweep driver reinstall or try a different driver version.
Cheers.
Good Luck! -
I would try to reinstall the video drivers

Mechanized Menace Lost in the MYST
could be mouse settings in game + external mouse settings clashing. Are you using an external mouse? If so what brand?
-
Yes I'm using a Microsoft Intellimouse (laser). Tomorrow I'll try reinstalling the game, and the driversweep program reborn mentioned.
I was just thinking that maybe it had something to do with the video settings in-game since I think I had a similar problem with MW2 that was fixed by turning off Vsync or something in-game. That doesn't work in CoD4, but I thought maybe there was a known issue.
Here's another tidbit: the mouse is fine in the menus, it's only once a map loads that it starts lagging. -
Not sure if it applies but since it is a mouse issue it could be a DPI issue.
Try right clicking the .exe of the game and disabling DPI scaling apply and then run the game again and see if it works. -
Tried reinstalling the game, didn't work.
Downloading DirectX 9c now to try reinstalling that. -
gee bugger ey. I wonder if theres any good patches for the game that might help with ATI gfx card.
-
Hopefully the new beta 10.8 coming out later 2nite or 2morrow will solve your problems.

Bingo, installed the new beta. Fixed this problem (and a random new problem of the second GPU not being used).
Yay! Thanks reborn.
