I already have an i7 940xm proc and a 160gb intel SSD. I have never ordered an Alienware before, so I am wondering if dell can exclude the proc and HDD at a price break.

Also, since the 480m follows the mxm 3.0b standard will the current gen m17x be upgradeable?

The current gen m17x could upgrade to a single 480, as I believe the card is supported in the bios. The cooling system can't support 2 in SLi, though. As far as the processor and HDD goes, I don't think you can request one without, but you can always try. I know most just order the cheapest option and replace.

pretty sure you do have to order a system with a CPU and HDD

as above order the cheapest and upgrade yours.

Of course Warranty will not cover those items unless they are Dell Parts
