I'm considering the M17x R3 with the 3D screen, and I'd like to know if I could use it with two sets of glasses. My daughter likes to join me for games sometimes, and it seems nicer to both have a set of 3D glasses.

Has anyone tried this yet? Are the viewing angles of this screen good enough?

Yep it is completely possible. There are hardly any viewing angle problems because of the technology used vs the ordinary passive way.

Thanks! She'll be so happy to sit on the couch together and play a game or watch a movie :D

And these are the regular (expensive) nVidia glasses, right?

That's right as opposed to passive cinema ones. Don't bother with 3D Vision 2 ones. They aren't as comfy and the R3 doesn't support half the features.

I just bought (ebay) a second set of V2 glasses for the same reason and they work just fine. For me the extra lens area and the better shielding for ambient light are better then the originals but as widezu69 says, half the features are not there - basically lightboost, which needs a compliant monitor (as I read it). As for comfort I prefer the V2 as they are more comfortable with headphones but not as stylish. If you can get the originals at a decent discount I'd recommend going that way.
Forgot to add, if you wear prescription glasses then the V2 have a better design to go over a wider range of shapes and sizes...

Thanks for the usefull info! As I wear prescription glasses a set of V2 and the originals would be perfect for us.

Actually yeah I forgot to add that. The V2 frames are larger and sit further from the eyes so they can go over prescription glasses. They didn't sit on my face that well so I didn't like them. Also nvidia claimed larger lense sizes but as they sat further from my eyes, I actually got a restricted FOV. But they are good for if you wear glasses :)
