stupid question w/o looking at your dump. did you upgrade the VBIOS ?
-
yeap bios, vbios, drivers, you name it
and i followed the "clean" procedures of installing the drivers of the GPU (i.e. removing all the traces of the old drivers before installing the new ones)
I dont have problem with performance, games run very smoothly, .. untill they freeze or crash that it is, problem is with stability -
well, it does look that it's coming from the video card driver and if you say you're all up to date (latest drivers + vbios) i can only suggest a full windows reinstall and if that doesn't help you got yourself PITA cards and you should call dell.
btw, have you experienced it since the beginning or had it started happening lately ? -
have you upgraded your ram aftermarket?
i have the exact same type of crash on my m17 everything run smooth but if i let the machine idle i get a crash and the dump is identical to the one you have -
interestingly, i never encountered a problem / crash / freeze during normal windows 7 (Have home premium) not even while watching movies, youtube, ... etc.
everything is fine except when it comes to gaming, any game I play have to crash at some time, might be 10 mins, sometimes two hours.
could it really be a hardware problem? what is PITA?
thanx

nop it just started apearing after my hdd reformat this week endwhen i installed ati 10.11 driver so i though maybe the driver was faulty i re installed 10.10 and yet it stayed the same im starting to suspect diferent thing and one of them was the new ram i installed an other is my clock optimisation and last when googoling my av software could be the cause

PITA = Pain In The Axx
i meant that the video cards must be faulty, if you are under warranty i'd give dell a call and let them sort it out.
They will probably want to replace your video cards and possible the mobo -
hmmm ... dell support here arent the greatest (go figure, Lol) i even doubt that they are skilled enough to replace my GPU (if they even have stock) i will put this as my last resort.
i will go for a clean windows install this weekend, hopefully it will be sorted out.
btw since you ordered outside of your current country (like i did), how did your local Dell support handeled it? you just gave them the service tag number and they gave you support or you have to do the whole "transfer warranty" thing?
cheers -
i do game alot but i havent had time to reinstall my games since last week end and for not i only have mas effect 2 and starcraft 2 both of them never crashed my crashes only happens at idle
