When I try to run any game that I own I get serious pink flickering or lines. I just purchased this unit brand new. Maybe there's something I don't understand about Xrossfire....

You can try reinstalling the drivers again. If the problem persists, it might be a bad GPU.

Might be a bad secondary card then. You might want to give Dell a call and see if they will send out a replacement GPU. Stress that you want the secondary. Stuff like this happens so you'll be fine once everything is working smoothly.

I just found out that the flickering only happends in full screen with Xrossfire enabled.

I just tried to call Alienware and it says their closed :(
    I'll try dell.

For CF, it only works with full screen. Don't ask me why lol, it's just how ATI designed... In windowed mode, you are running only one card. It can almost be confirmed to be a bad CF cable or bad secondary from the sounds of it. Give Dell a call tomorrow.

on CCC disable crossfire and see if the problem happend again.

If not you may have a bad cf cable/bad slave card/bad cf connector on main or slave card.

Ask dell for a replacement of both cards. It happends also to me the first week i received my machine. Dell changed both card for my at home 2 days after i call them.

    I love my warranty :D

I already set my alarm lol.....atleast I have my G73JH still to fall back on :)
This is soooo lame :( but I guess it's worth it. The build quality is light years ahead of my G73JH. Plus I also bought the Alienware Orion Messenger bag for a stylish combination.

I just called Amazon and they said they are overnighting another M17x R2 to me and it will be here by the 17th. I'm so glad that I went through them. I was also able to extend my warranty with dell for 2 years more. So hopefully they will allow me to transfer from one to the other.

! How does the flickering or pink lines look? Any way to record or something? My original R2 did the same , got a tech to replace my cards but he destroyed my laptop... Alienware sent me a brand new laptop and I still have a color flickering issue but only when I enable crossfire... Now after reading your thread I have a feeling this laptop has problematic cards too...again.

But maybe it's a normal issue... Idk :/

This morning I spent 3 hours over the phone with Alienwear technical support. What's interesting is that the tech took control of the computer and downloaded all kind of diagnostic tools some of which are the same as what we would use. He must have tried everything. Bios, Driver, VBios, DPC Latency etc.......He really knew his stuff. He even got a second opinion from another tech before telling me that he could have a tech at my home in 2 days with the parts to fix the issue. I told him that I would rather exchange for a new unit instead with Amazon. He also said the secondary card was malfunctioning.

I can't take a picture or video of the flickering. It only shows up as a pink picture becasue of my camera.

But here goes. The is the best I can do because I sent it off through UPS back to Amazon for 118.08 insured shipping that will be refunded this morning :(

oh ok, now I see :)
It's rare that I find customer service that exceeds my expectations like Amazon has.

As I sit here typing on my M17x R2 I feel priviledged to be able to own a similiar configured M17x for a fraction of the price.
