Can the m17xR3 3DV1 be upgraded to 3DV2 Ligthboost? Needs new lightboost screen obviously, but is it possible?

Hey does anyone know any information about this?

I bought the R3 in Sept. 2011. A month later 3d v2 lightboost was announced. I was bitter about it for a while but I know this is how it goes in the world of tech.

I was wondering if the R3 can have a screen upgrade to lightboost 3D Vision 2.

    Thanks

well first of all yoi need to rip a lightboost display from the only existing laptop that I know of that has it which is the toshiba one. Next you have you cut open the display assembly of your M17x to swap the drives and we don't even know if the connectors are the same. I don't think bios support would be an issue as it is all controlled in the drivers I think.

Thanks, its a long shot I know but one can hope.

I knew it would be a process and that it could probably not happen right now until 17" lightboost screens become more abundant.

I have the Asus Vg278 27" lightboost which I LOVE! The R3 is connected via DL DVI adapter 330 hz for 3d pass through to the vg278. It works great but it would be nice to have lightboost on the Laptop screen as well.
