    Greetings all.

Ran into a strange problem with my AW17.

I normally game with an external Corsair mouse, but today I jumped into a session of Tomb Raider and was using the trackpad/keyboard combo.

The issue is the trackpad works or the keyboard works, but if I attempt to move (W,A,S,D) and move the POV (trackpad), the trackpad will not work.

It behaves this way in every game I tried. Tomb Raider, Fallout:New Vegas, Skyrim, UT3, Metro:Last Light.

    External mouse works fine.

Any ideas? The trackpad works normally in Windows.

Maybe try going into control panel -> mouse (selecting 'No' if you get a prompt to uninstall the Synaptics driver). Click the pointer options tab. You may see an option called "Hide pointer while typing". If that's checked, try unchecking it. Not sure if that'll fix it but worth a try.

I believe this feature was designed so that when you are typing you would not be able to accidentally click somewhere. This works everywhere - even in this field I am typing - touch-pad freezes while you type and comes back to live when you stop typing. As far as I can tell there is no setting to turn off in order to stop this behaviour. If you uninstall touch-pad drivers, this should stop I would imagine, but you would loose 2 finger scrolling and all the additional features Synaptics offer for AW users.

Edit: Unchecking 'Hide pointer while typing' does not enable touchpad during typing.

This is a known feature, and i don't think you can change it. But if you figure out a way to change it, do post here !

I stop it on mine, But I can't remember how. Think it's some where in Control panel, Mouse, Device Setting, Setting

    Found it.

Open Alienware Command center, AlienTouch, Sensitivity, then on Sensitivity to accidentral contact, turn the bar all the way to the left.
