i'm want to ask is it possible to change alienware m17x r2 USB port with USB port 3.0 or USB port 4.0...??
does anyone here ever change it ???

There's no USB 4.0 at the moment. USB 3.0 is new enough that most new laptops might have a single 3.0 port, but that's about it.
The only way to get USB 3.0 on a M17x at the moment is by buying a USB ExpressCard. This plugs into the expansion bay just under the DVD slot, and will give you a pair of 3.0 sockets. -
IMO, all PC makers should replace all USB 2.0 ports with the USB 3.0 ports since it is backward compatible.
The real question is when will Alienware machines get USB 3.0 ports?
Will we need to wait for the next release, m17x-R3, or does Alienware perform in-place model upgrade of components? -

Reading other articles, you have to wonder if Intel is purposely delaying the adoption of USB 3.0 in favor of their Light Peak.
