Can you get the xbox 360 as well as student discount for m17xr3?

I heard many people say they received a free xbox 360 with their purchase of an alienware laptop. I wonder if this is possible when you already get a student price?

If this has happened to anyone please let me know.

I have to repurchase my laptop and theyve made the specs I already have more expensive so I'm trying to see if I can snag some deals to even out the difference.

 

Most places will only the offer the Xbox 360 4GB Slim without discounts (Mail-in rebates not included.) I know for sure that HP did not allow coupons plus the xbox. It's either-or. Also, if you end up returning whatever you order, you have to include the xbox if you got one.

In-regards to the student discount; I am without a clue. Just keep in mind that its normally "this deal, or that; not both".

Sort of.

I had ordered from Alienware a M17x R3 and had forgotten to ask for the Xbox. When I called back asking for the Xbox, the rep wanted to get rid of my student discount. After a bit of arguing (I was a tad pissed off, as far as I knew at the time it was suppose to be a free Xbox and I was suppose to be able to get my discount as well), I not only managed to get my Xbox but I also got the laptop with the student discount! I actually saved a penny too!

I was however told that the discount should not be applied because it is waived by the Xbox...which is utter BS and told the rep as such. I suppose I got lucky though; they were experiencing technical difficulties.

See that's the thing, I've been playing phone tag with various reps because my order has had some issues. As of right now my order is still in the processing stage and has not been ship. It was therefore easy for them to add on the Xbox and adjust everything so as to keep the same price.

 

Most reps will offer you an average discount + the 360 OR an amazing discount with no 360. You receive the 360 2-3 days after you place the order and your AW 7-9 days.

 

I got both, just so you know, with no hassle. Just get a US rep like mine.

 

This. I actually just found out that I could have gotten a great discount without a Xbox.

In the end it worked out so oh well, lol.

 

i tried to get both but they wouldn't let me. I spoke with 3 different reps, no go for me. However, i got student discount + some coupon i found online so I saved like $100. I couldn't care less for a 360 anyway, PS3 is always going to be #1

 

Man.. I wish I could land that easily. Talked to 2 AW reps so far. Both have said they can only give me like $50 off, no more... And that I didnt qualify for the 360.. They just sound so harsh.. I wask trying for a m14x though.. Not a m17x

This is a LAPTOP (COMPUTER) FORUM........should be a bit more mature than the console forums..

As far as the Xbox, I got mine no hassle. You have to be in college, in order to receive this laptop and high school does not count..
