Just a shot in the dark, try closing all unnecessary programs then switch GPU's. Just once I had the reverse issue, couldn't switch from 6970m to IGP, and found it was a program for Logitech gaming keyboards blocking it. It was random tho cos now I can switch no trouble with the program running.

Nvidia has an Optimus system, so you don't have to switch graphics cards back and forth. It'll just give extra power when you need it.

    2 things.

List your specs(Including Bios and recently updated drivers)

Consider asking them to replace it if it has that many failures already.

Try reverting to the A03 bios driver. That might help out. I know it says A04 is recommended, but for me as another R3 owner, the A04 only gave me bsod's on almost everything I ran.

I highly doubt using the bios from the dell site would void warranty.
