so, I have a problem turning my laptop on, is their a way I can reset the setting on the bios without being able to access the bios, when the computer turns on, it doesn't load anything, I know I can pull the bios battery but would that reset all the settings in the bios. I have the a04 modded bios to disable the IGP and I was trying to re enable it to maybe install ubuntu, because I kept getting a kernel error for the nvidia gpu, any help would be appreciated. well a blind bios flash might work, but in all honesty it's easier and safer just to pull the bios battery and let it reset.

it only takes a minute and it's the safest bet.

were there that many settings changed that you can't remember what settings you had prior?

well, thats my biggest worry, I had problems with the IGP and getting BSOD so when I called dell support they actually flashed the a04 bios over the phone, and told me what settings to change. I don't remember all the tweaks I made in the bios to disable the IGP, all I changed tonight was under the advanced tab enable the IGP and thats when it bricked.

I just pulled the cmos battery, and still nothing, whats puzzling to me is that I get no beeps, no nothing, the fans don't kick on, the screen doesnt light up but the keyboard lights start up, and the OD moves like any normal start up.

    oh dear!
wish i knew more about the r3 and the IGP settings, from what i've been reading seems more trouble than its worth >.<

if nothing seems to be loading you may need to do an emergency bios flash.
i know it's got something to do with the USB/ESATA port and special preparation of a usb key, but really not sure how to go about doing it, perhaps someone with more knowledge in that area can help.

    either that or call dell
