I have an 6970 card and when I go to battery and try to switch to integrated gpu ,the apply button does not work ,do I need to update to the latest driver?.Any help would be appreciated.

did you close all of your applications and windows? it won't switch unless all applications are closed
-
ohhh is that the trick? i noticed it seemed to not work sometimes...a message indicating that would have been nice lol

Try checking your bios if it says it detects the igpu.

Does the 460m have the igpu? I thought I read somewhere saying it doesn't. I know on my r3 I don't see any gpu besides the 460 when I look at device manager.
-
Oh. That Im not sure. But the OP's gpu is a 6970m that's why I said that.

I didn't know this either. I, like steve, had issues switching. trying to swap back after the initial switch works intermittently. So thanks for the tip.

You have a 3D R3? R3 with 460M + 3D will not show the Intel GPU. Non-3D R3 shows the Intel GPU in BIOS and Device Manager and is switchable.
It sounds like it works differently than the 6970, however. I've never had to close all apps for it to go back to the IGPU, only the app that required the 460M. I am able to set the Intel as the default (for battery-saving purposes) and set certain apps to use the 460M.
