After repasting my GPUs (which I've already done a couple of times before without trouble), the 13.1 drivers weren't allowing me to enable Crossfire even though the second GPU was being detected. I made sure that the CFX cable was installed tightly in both GPUs and even flipped it around just for good measure. Still no luck.

So, I decided to use the AMD cleanup utility and do a fresh install of the latest drivers. Unfortunately though, I'm unable to get any of them working. After they're done installing, it gives me the yellow ! saying that errors occurred during installation and I'm not even able to look at the log to see what happened. Upon rebooting, CCC isn't working properly with only the home screen available and no other options.

I've tried this with the original Dell drivers, 13.1 beta, and now 14.4. What's the deal?

Could a damaged Crossfire cable present the issues I described? If so, would the above linked cable work with my 6990Ms? (I assume it would but I just wanted to make sure that there haven't been any amendments to it with mobile PCI-E 3.0, etc.)

Try the cleaner and using the DELL drivers, then on top of them install the latest AMD ones.
