    Part 1:

Created alienrespawn, rebooted, enabled raid-0, booted off the USB stick, the alienrespawn utility is BROKEN, the system recovery is broken...NOTHING was properly written to the USB stick. GOOD JOB DELL >_< !!!!!!!!!

Now I am reinstalling from the CD.

How do I get the alienrespawn properly made ?

    Part 2:

Ok, I am seriously destined not to have a damn laptop.

"Windows Setup could not configure Windows to run on this computer's hardware."

    Help?

Yes I am using the Win Home Premium disc it came with...I don't get it.

EDIT: Rebooted after that error message..."Starting Services" then that error message, yet again.

Did it originally come with RAID 0? If not the respawn image will not install to a RAID 0 setup because it doesn't contain RAID drivers. I would reformat the HDDs, and then begin my install that way. You'll lose the recovery partition, but if you use another program to create backup images, you'll be fine. Programs like Acronis True Image, or Dell Data Safe work well.

Hmm..I have never used Alien respawn on any of my AW systems, I always reinstall from scratch. I make a full image backup useing MS backup and restore. I then wipe the disk with a new install of Win7 Ultimate, reinstall the drivers and never had a issue.

I also make a weekly full backup of all my systems and a daily incrimental to a WHS....

also a FYI, if the system came not configured raid-0 and youre trying to restore to a raid-0...not gonna happen. In a non raid-0 your system sees 2 hard drives, C and D most likely, in a raid-0 your system has ONE hard drive (2 hard drives combined into one). So what your trying to do is put a image made for 2 hard drives on to one hard drive.

    SOLVED!!!

DO NOT USE THE USB 3.0 PORTS TO BOOT FROM!

I figured this out on accident with my retail ultimate disc. I inserted the usb stick into the usb 3.0 slots and nothing happened. Then I moved them to the other ones and it showed right up.

So...Rebooted with it in the 2.0 slot and it recovered no problem :)

MODS: Can you please update it to solved thanks ! :)

Nice, good to hear u figured this out quickly lol. I was a bit surprised that alienrespawn 'failed' as it checks the back up files after creating them just to make sure.

Use the "report feature" under your username (the red triangle) to ask for a title change. Glad it worked out.

Emm, please put your spec's in your signature.

Do you have an SSD, our R3's take closer to a minute to boot from scratch although I have yet to time it.

We burned DVD's to make respawn disc's...

That doens't look like SSD, unless (s)he is a slow typist. My boot is ~13s when garbage collection needs to do a bit of work still (vertex2).
