Hello everyone, I changed the GTX1070 for my Alienware M17X R5 today, but when I enter the game, the power light and computer screen will be turned off, I have to re-plug the power plug and plug it in again, but when I enter the game again This problem occurs again. Is my 240W power adapter unable to use the GTX1070? In addition, my CPU 4700MQ has unlocked the frequency to 3.4Ghz! Do I need to replace the 330W power adapter? Please help me, thank you

Shouldn't be any problems running the 240w AC adapter just not recommended once you start overclocking.

    What 1070 did you get?

Then I need to replace it with a 330W power adapter?
My GTX1070 is produced in China, not MSI.

First of all you should disable power adapter recognition in the BIOS, this has helped sm of the guys here, who had upgraded to a 1070, iirc.

Your screen model is the TN screen of N173HHE-G32? I just bought the IPS screen of N173HCE-G32 today. I don't know if it can be used. I'll wait a few days for express delivery to me to test whether it can be used or not.

Will disabled power adapter identification work for computers that have been CPU frequency unlocked?

I just broke my panel so I am not using it at the moment but yes. I cant seem to find anything that says the N173HCE-G32 is IPS, just that it has worse color reproduction than the N173HHE-G32 and 10x the input lag.

Already uploaded to mega, the default frequency of this card is 1442Mhz, you can use MSI Afterburner to unlock the frequency to 2442Mhz, but I dare not unlock, afraid it Boom, I don't know if other brands of 1070 graphics card can unlock so many frequencies.

China's largest LCD trading website has the parameters of N173HCE-G32. Chinese people will buy LCD screens on the website. I think the website parameters are not wrong.

Yeah thats the site I was looking at as well but I didnt see any mentions of IPS, just less color accuracy, higher input lag.

When I enter the search value of the Innolux brand's 17.3 - 1920*1080 - IPS screen, he will appear. When I consult the seller, the answer is IPS screen.

Is this the "adapter warnigs" option? When I turn it off, will the 240W power adapter never automatically disconnect?

Well as long as you have the confidence then go for it! That input lag is a bit much for me but not everyone is sensitive to that or even play games all the time to make it a deciding factor.

Its what I like about the Ranger, basically can build it to your own design philosophy

Yes, everyone's habits are different, but for the lower input delay and IPS screen options, I prefer the IPS screen, I hate the gray TN screen.

Yes that is it, it's normally warning for non-Dell adapters or when the adapter becomes old and is going to break, and sm guys here had their problem fixed when they disabled this.

I have turned it off, but the power adapter will still be disconnected after entering the game. It seems that I have to replace the 330W power adapter.

The price of this card is $470. Today I have uninstalled this video card and replaced it with MSI 1070 1.2, I heard that MSI 1070 1.2 is better. The new MSI 1070 1.2 costs $520, the second-hand MSI 1070 1.2 costs $360, and the MSI 1070 1.0 is cheaper.

The cost of commodity express delivery from China should be very expensive. And there are customs duties. I think that's why eBay is more expensive.

Hello Friend ???, I have the same GTX 1070 MXM video card in my Alienware 17 R1 I also went through the same problem and believed that the reason for this was the 240W Power Supply, then I discovered that this was not the problem !! What worked for me was to deactivate the "ACPI S3" option in BIOS after that I realized that it would not shut down anymore and seemed to send more power to the processor, after some positive tests in games I re-enabled the "ACPI S3" just to see if the problem would return and curiously, the problem never occurred again !! even with ACPI S3 Enabled as before !! That was what solved for me and even using PSU 240W works everything normal!! I Only have performed the "Disable" and "Re-enable" ACPI S3 procedure in the BIOS

    Yes, Pakistani brothers

Thank you, friend, when I replaced the screen to modify the A side, the motherboard was short-circuited. Now the computer is in the repair shop. When the computer comes back, I will test it.

There is no problem with the screen. When I refitted shell A, I did not pay attention to protecting the wiring interface. Dust entered the wiring interface, which led to short circuit of the motherboard.
