Can you cancel an order once it's in production? When I call Dell they say no. Do I just need to talk to a different 'Steve' with a think middle eastern accent to cancel?

Personally I would call them and invoke the 14 day distance selling act legislation, assuming it's been fewer than 14 days.

Well you have the right to a refund with no restocking fee so just let them build it, take delivery and send it back.

There may have been someone with some sort of trick, but I have scoured the Internet for such an example and found no one who was able to cancel an order marked as "in production". But I have heard, and hope to soon experience, that you get the restocking fee waived when you reorder, and I've even heard that you can get the restocking fee waived if you return it within the first 21 days.

ok, thx. Tried to cancel but they said they could not. According to Dell, I'll have to send it back or if it's delayed then I can cancel it:

Dell - Can I cancel my order?

i've made this account just to tell you that i've cancel my order while its in production

reason : because i wanted to improve my ram + harddesk

so i called them , they told me we cannot do it while its in production ! but we will give you discount if you accept it as its ! and i say if you cannot then i'll take the offer " the discount was $150 but since i'm not in US i cannot take it :) like he says anyways

i sent mail to customer service same day telling them that i wanna cancel my order no much details

and they accept my order next day but if you use a credit card cancelling order will take while i mean your money needs at least 1 week

yep that's all what happend with me

    good luck

they sure do, in the uk anyway. once you arrange a return, they pick up your laptop on a day you can choose.
