Hey, I did just about the stupidest thing In a long time. I installed the Windows 8 developer kit on my laptop and now I can't revert it back to Windows 7 because I don't have the windows 7 cd. I bought it from the dell outlet and all I got was the laptop, adaptor, and the manual for the previous M17x. Any ideas, Please all help would be appreciated because as of now, my laptop is useless. :/

Call Dell and tell them you did not get the cd.

I did that, and I thought I could just F8 on boot? I still see the Recovery partition on my hardrive. Any way I can use that?

Dunno if you can use that. If you can you should be able to burn the rescue disks using Alienrespawn. But I have no idea about that.

Yeah....I can't find Alienrespawn. I feel like an idiot for not installing it on something else.

Did you install 8 over the existing Windows 7 installation, or on another partition? If you installed it on another partition, you should still be able to boot from Win 7.

Try pressing F8 when the computer starts. If you have the recovery partition, I think you can restore from there. Also, call tech support, they seem pretty helpful if that doesn't work.

Yeah, I have the Recovery partition but It will not let me restore to factory defaults. I'm just waiting for the DVD to get to my house cuz I'm not pc savvy and I don't really know how to follow all those steps. Sorry. And they said i have to pay $89 for them to give me the right drivers after clean install. :/
