thanks for heads-up Rev! +rep
-
Is there any new Application Profiles to go with this, as well?
- Scott. -
The Revelator Notebook Prophet
No new CAP yet. People are continuing to use 11.9 CAP4 for the moment.
-
Been waiting for this!!! Hope it helps me and my issues.... For BF3
-
THANKS REV!!!!
Tell me 3dmark vantage scores are even higher -

if anybody has already installed this, could you please share your gaming/benchmarking experience? thanks

Be sure to install CAP 4 as well.
I'm hoping this resolves my driver crashing issue. I might just bump the voltage in my GPUs. Tha may be my issue. -
-
guys are these drivers recommended for bf3?

Do i need to Apply the CAP4 profile again, if i installed it before adding this driver?
Cheers,

drivers work perfect. even got ability to switch from intel to ati back.
was broken since i upgraded from dell to 11.8 -
Installed over top of 11.8s. All seems ok. 3d mark 06 gives me a similar score of 19600 to before. Various games seem fine but I don't own Rage or BF3 do can't comment on those
-
i did a clean install of these drivers and i still sometimes get stutter more so then with Wqhl ATI 11.9+CAP4. i get less stutter with Clevo 11.9+CAP4 and abit more smoother gameplay also on non stutter parts.
i seem to stutter near the center of any map and sometimes pressing TAB or ESC fix's it for a lil bit i dont stutter when using scopes on snipers. -
-
-
3dmark06 is not a good representation since its so cpu bound. Vantage is much better as well as 3dmark11.
Stealth do you have Cap4 installed?. Also do you have your cards undervolted a bit? If i recall correctly you have 6900s in the R2. Your shutter May be powered related. -
-
Darkloki, what are your internet speeds? Could that be an issue? Wired or wireless? on my system i get smoothness but some driver crashes. Which May be undervolt related. My internet speed is 30mb download and 25mb upload. Also why are you not playing on you sweet desktop with that big monitor?
-
Yeah I know 3d mark 06 is old and not the best barometer lol. But at least it gives me a quick indication that nothing has gone up on the system. I always find driver update a stressful thing worrying that something is going to brick the laptop!
-
Whenever i try to install this my screen will lock up at a white screen. Had to go into safe mode and uninstall. Did i screw up the installation somehow? I have a 6990m.
-
Hoping this solves my freezing when i change video settings in multiplayer. Overtime it freezes when i try and change a setting.
-
so.....does the 11.10 include the changes in cap 4 or no? If not, I wonder if installing cap 4 on top of 11.10 would help BF3 studdering and screen tearing issues or if it would hinder it. I would just do it myself, but I'm at work and won't get to it until tomorrow night probably.
-
I thought all cap profiles got rolled up in the next driver release. If not then that makes no sense from AMD.

So I gave this 11.10 a bench run, judging from GPU scores. It improved my Vantage GPU score for a bit more than 300 points which I find good boost, however 3DMark11 showed 10 points decrease in the GPU score (3 runs, almost same).
This is without any CAP installed, which has no impact on 3DMarks?
I'll later check some games first without CAP, then with -
I'm not having terrible issues w/ the tearing anymore (since 11.10 preview 3 which I did a clean install on) but every once in a while I see it. It is MUCH better than the beta that's for sure! I'm more wondering about the performance hit / increase associated with cap 4....
Darkloki--might I suggest doing a clean install of 11.10 if you haven't done so already? My m17x r2 seems to run everything just fine on High in multiplayer. I'm averaging around 50-60 fps with no overclock at all...but as soon as I go to ultra, I get in the high 30's to mid 40's (too low for my tastes). -

Cracked 4K with a mild OC...now i want to see what i get with a more agressive setting (driver settings on default) -

if anyone experiences no textures, everything replaced with blue with rage just put in game's folder the atioglxx.dll from preview 3 drivers!!seems that 11.10 WHQL opengl driver is older than preview 3.
atioglxx.7z
11.10 pre3: OGL 6.14.10.11299
11.10 WHQL: OGL 6.14.10.11161 -
While playing BF3 my screen is flickering green / white since I upgraded to 11.10. With 11.9 I rarely saw a white flash screen, but now there is green too! Could this be a faulty GPU?
Where could I download Cap4? -

hey guys..
what i don't understand is that when i go to AMD site and key in 6970M, the 11.10 driver they have there is only 80+mb?
This one is Ccc_Ocl and i can't find it anywhere on the site! Why is this so? Wouldn't AMD be linking us to the one they want us to install (ALA 80+mb and which doesn't work for me), and how do people find this ccc_ocl version? -
The Revelator Notebook Prophet
The same old story. From the Release Notes accompanying the version of Cat 11.10 driver package available from the AMD site:
To-wit: the Alienware M17x-R3.

No, guys. The ones in Post 1 work fine; it's the ones on the official AMD site that won't install, with a note that the drivers are not compatible with your hardware, because the "official" detection routine rejects switchable graphics notebooks. The ones from the ATI mirror posted here get around that restriction. You guys understand that by now; this release is no different from the prior releases posted here, although most face some difficulties updating directly over the Dell default drivers. But once over that hurdle subsequent installations are smooth and easy.

SlickDude80 Notebook Prophet
Guys, install from the ones listed here...i've done extensive testing and so far these drivers are very good...just got 3dmark11: P4508
FN keys are working fine and i can switch to iGPU via FN/F7 just fine -
Question about the ones in the first post. I went and deleted my old drivers, went into safe mode and cleaned. Then when i booted back into windows to install them it would push me to a white screen and freeze up. I could forse my computer to sleep then wake back and and see windows. But when i went to open my CCC it wouldn't let me. Am i missing something on the installation?
-
For people having problems opening up their CCC or "AMD is not installed" error, try this.
After installing, reboot. Go to device manager, uninstall ur Intel driver and reboot. After the new intel driver is installed, the AMD will work again.
I think somehow driver sweeper did sth to the intel drivers and require a fresh install. -
The Revelator Notebook Prophet
@pnw_rider -- Yes. What's peculiar about drivers for ATI/AMD cards in the R3 is that the most recent Dell drivers for the card must be installed first. Those drivers include the drivers for the Intel IGP and the switchable graphics utility. (The Intel graphics drivers on the Dell R3 Support site are for use with Nvidia cards, not ATI cards.) Then more recent ATI reference drivers can be installed over the Dell drivers, leaving the Intel drivers and switching utility in place, but replacing the drivers for the ATI card. Sometimes the subsequent installation of reference drivers goes smoothly; sometimes you have to work with it a little.
